Marina guide
South Beach Harbor
San Francisco, San Francisco County, CA
Overview
South Beach Harbor is the Port of San Francisco's marina on the city's southeast waterfront, right next to the San Francisco Giants ballpark. It overlooks the Bay and serves long-term berth holders as well as guest boats.
Guest berths and the guest dock
Vessels must have prior permission to berth, so request a guest berth through the Port before you arrive. Guest slip holders get key cards, showers, restrooms and coin laundry, and may stay up to two weeks. A pump-out is located at the end of the South Guest Dock. The Port says the South Guest Dock will tentatively close starting October 14, 2026 until further notice for maintenance and renovations, so check the Port's page for the latest status before planning a visit.
McCovey Cove
The cove beside the ballpark gets crowded on Giants game days. The Port's safe-boating rules require no wake and minimum way for motorized boats outside the No Motor Zone, and the No Motor Zone is for human-powered craft only. There's no overnight anchoring. Vessels may arrive and anchor up to two hours before a game starts and must leave soon after it ends. Stay clear of the ferry landings.
Good to know
The harbor office is open 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. every day. Sea lions are present year-round, most active from May to August, and the harbor provides deterrent equipment. The nearest fuel dock is at Gashouse Cove near Fort Mason.
Getting there & access
