Dana Point Fuel Dock
Dana Point, Orange County, CA
Overview
Dana Point Fuel Dock is the harbor's full-service fuel stop, on the east side of Dana Point Harbor at 34661 Puerto Place. The harbor's own website describes it as a full-service station on the water in the east turning basin. The dock's website says it has operated for more than 25 years and sells ValvTect Marine Fuel.
What you can buy
The dock sells diesel, regular (87), super (91) and propane. It also stocks ice (block and cube), frozen bait, tackle, snacks, drinks and sunscreen. Pricing isn't posted online; the dock invites you to contact it and mentions discounts for cash, debit and BoatUS members.
Hours
Per the dock's website: Monday to Thursday 8 am to 5 pm, Friday to Sunday 7 am to 5 pm. Summer weekends are busiest, so fill up outside the early-afternoon rush.
Maintenance and pump-out
The dock offers full-service maintenance, such as oil changes, transmission and coolant service, fuel filter service, battery replacement and fuel tank pump-out, plus do-it-yourself filter sales, oil disposal and a bilge pad exchange. The Log's pump-out list places a vessel pump-out at the fuel dock on the east side of the fishing and launch basin. Call (949) 496-6113 to confirm before you arrive.
Getting there & access
By water
The fuel dock is in the east side of the harbor, which the harbor site calls the east turning basin. After entering between the breakwaters, keep to the 5 mph limit and follow the channel toward the east side.
Hail ahead
The dock's website doesn't list a working VHF channel, so call (949) 496-6113 before arriving, especially on busy weekends.
By road
The address is 34661 Puerto Place, reached from Dana Point Harbor Drive. Note that the county harbor site lists the address as 34461 Puerto Place; the dock's own website says 34661.
Fuel and pump-out etiquette
