About this boat ramp

The Spillway launch is a Lake Oroville State Recreation Area ramp at the north end of Oroville Dam, off Oroville Dam Boulevard East. It's one of the main ramps on [Lake Oroville](/lakes/lake-oroville), with [Bidwell Canyon](/marinas/bidwell-canyon-marina), Loafer Creek and [Lime Saddle](/marinas/lime-saddle-marina).

The ramp

The state boating directory lists about 375 trailer spaces, a boat washdown area, a day-use picnic area and restrooms.

Lake level

Like every Oroville ramp, Spillway works only within a range of lake elevations. In August 2026, when the Enterprise ramp closed for low water, the Department of Water Resources listed Spillway among the alternate ramps for trailered launching. Mussel inspections and seals ended on April 29, 2026, and launching is open 24 hours.
