Puddingstone Lake Launch Ramp (Bonelli Park)
San Dimas, Los Angeles County, CA
Overview
The Puddingstone Lake launch is the boat ramp at Frank G. Bonelli Regional Park, 120 East Via Verde Park Drive in San Dimas. Los Angeles County Parks runs the 1,800-acre park and its 250-acre lake, one of the closest powerboat, ski and PWC lakes to the LA basin.
Days and hours
The lake is open from sunrise to half an hour before sunset, Wednesday through Sunday. Like all LA County regional parks, Bonelli is closed Mondays and Tuesdays.
Odd and even days
From April to September, Puddingstone splits motorized traffic by date: even calendar days are for power boats and odd calendar days are for personal watercraft. Check the date before you hitch up.
Permits and inspection
Every vessel must pass a quagga and safety inspection and get a launch permit before launching. Boats must be 8 to 26 feet long. A daily motorized permit is $12 and non-motorized is $9. Annual permits require a DMV-registered boat with CF numbers, current stickers and Quagga stickers on each side, and are sold walk-in only at the park's main office.
At the ramp
The facility has two boarding floats, two carry-down walkways for small craft and about 180 car-and-trailer spaces, with a fish cleaning station, restrooms, showers and a swim area nearby.

Common boat service needs here
PWC and outboard service
Puddingstone is a PWC and small-powerboat lake. Personal watercraft and outboards that see hard summer use need regular tune-ups and impeller changes.
