About this boat ramp

Martin Luther King Jr. Regional Shoreline is a 741-acre East Bay Regional Park District park on San Leandro Bay in Oakland, next to Oakland International Airport. Its two-lane boat launch in the south lot along Doolittle Drive has no launch fee, and parking is free except during big Coliseum events.

On the water

Motorboats and hovercraft must stay out of the marsh areas, and jet skis and hydrofoils are banned from November 1 through March 31 for migrating and nesting birds. The Tidewater Boating Center has an accessible paddle-craft dock. The Doolittle launch is a San Francisco Bay Water Trail site.

Arrowhead Marsh

The 50-acre Arrowhead Marsh is a stop on the Pacific Flyway, with a boardwalk and observation platform. One of the Doolittle docks is currently closed for piling replacement.
