Boat ramp guide
Miller Boat Launch
Marshall, Marin County, CA
Overview
Miller Boat Launch is a 4-acre Marin County park on the east shore of Tomales Bay, at 23240 Highway 1 north of Marshall near Nick's Cove. Marin County Parks runs it as a launch and fishing spot for motorized and non-motorized craft, and it's the main public trailer ramp on the bay.
The facility
There's a two-lane ramp and a dock. The dock, path and restrooms are ADA accessible. The park is open sunrise to sunset, and parking is free. Overnight parking needs a permit; National Park Service boat-in camping permits are honored, and other permits come from Marin County Parks at (415) 473-7608. There's no camping at the launch itself.
Fishing
Anglers fish from boats, the dock and the shoreline for striped bass, perch, rockfish, halibut, salmon and crab. A fishing license is required.
On the bay
The County asks boaters not to disturb Tomales Bay's wildlife and sensitive ecosystems, and to keep 50 feet from shore while on the water. Pelican Point, Duck Island and the east side of Hog Island are closed year-round, and personal watercraft aren't allowed on the bay. The entrance bar at the mouth is dangerous for boaters who don't know it, so most trips stay inside the bay.
