About this boat ramp
Leffingwell Landing is a small day-use area in Hearst San Simeon State Park at the north end of Moonstone Beach in Cambria. It has a concrete boat ramp straight into the open Pacific, one of very few public launches on this stretch of coast.
Launching
The ramp and parking are free. There's no harbor or breakwater here, so you're launching into open ocean swell; it suits kayaks, kayak fishing and small boats on calm days.
On shore
Picnic tables, barbecues, restrooms and a grassy knoll look out over the water, and a trail drops to a small beach and tide pools. It's also the start of the roughly one-mile Moonstone Beach Boardwalk.
