Boat ramp guide
Huntington Beach Boat Ramp (Warner Avenue)
Huntington Beach, Orange County, CA
Overview
The Huntington Beach Boat Ramp at 3831 Warner Avenue is the City of Huntington Beach's public launch in Huntington Harbour. It sits at the southeastern end of the harbor's main channel, near Warner Avenue and Pacific Coast Highway. The City built a 30-foot ramp here after an environmental review in 1984.
Sized for small boats
The State's facility listing describes a compact site: two boarding floats, two carry-down walkways, 15 parking spaces for cars with trailers, and boats from 10 to 25 feet. Restrooms, water on the dock, a pump-out and transient tie-ups are listed. With so few trailer spaces, it fills quickly on summer weekends.
Getting to the ocean
Huntington Harbour doesn't have its own ocean entrance. Boats reach the Pacific through Anaheim Bay and the Seal Beach Naval Weapons Station channel. The Orange County Sheriff's Harbor Patrol sets strict rules for that passage: no personal watercraft may be operated there, so PWCs must be towed through; vessels must be under power; kayaks and paddleboards aren't allowed. A 5 mph, no-wake limit applies all the way to the breakwater, so allow plenty of time for the run out.
Before you go
The City doesn't post ramp hours or fees online. Call (714) 536-5281 before towing. For larger boats, Sunset Aquatic Park in neighboring Sunset Harbor also has a launch.

Common boat service needs here
Outboard and sterndrive service
The long no-wake run through Anaheim Bay is hard on engines that idle for extended periods, so carburetor, plug and impeller service is a regular need.
Find Marine Mechanics & Engine Service providers →Washdown after launch
Small trailer boats used in salt water need a freshwater washdown of hull, engine and trailer after every trip.
Find Boat Detailing & Washing providers →Gelcoat and oxidation care
Boats stored on trailers in driveways around Huntington Beach take constant sun, and oxidized gelcoat needs compounding and polishing.
Find Gelcoat, Oxidation & Paint Correction providers →PWC transport
Because PWCs must be towed through the Weapons Station channel, some riders hire transport to an open-coast launch instead.
