About this boat ramp

Hirz Bay Public Boat Ramp is a Forest Service launch on the McCloud Arm of [Shasta Lake](/lakes/shasta-lake), about 20 miles northeast of Redding and about 9 miles up Gilman Road from Interstate 5.

The ramp

The paved ramp area has three lanes in service to about 75 feet of drawdown and two lanes to about 95 feet. There's a courtesy dock, flush toilets and 61 lighted parking spaces, but no drinking water.

Around the ramp

The ramp is part of the Hirz Bay complex, with a campground, two group camps and the Hirz Bay trail. It's day use only, and the Forest Service closes it during severe weather.
