About this boat ramp

Encinal Boat Ramp is the City of Alameda's public launch at 150 Central Avenue, west of Encinal High School, opening onto San Francisco Bay. It dates to 1981 and was rebuilt with a new two-lane ramp and two docks: one for motorboats and one for non-motorized craft.

What's there

The upgrade added a restroom with an outdoor shower, a fish cleaning station, a kayak laydown pad, new paths and lighting. The rock wall is open for fishing, and the beach stays open for launching kayaks and paddleboards.

On the water

Mornings are often calm before the afternoon westerlies build. Shallow water near the ramp can be tricky at very low tides, so plan around the tide table.
