About this boat ramp
El Dorado Beach Boat Ramp is the City of South Lake Tahoe's public launch at Lakeview Commons, where Highway 50 meets Lakeview Avenue. It's the main public trailer ramp in town, set beside a sandy beach and park.
Before you launch
Every motorized boat needs a Lake Tahoe invasive species inspection and seal before it touches the water, and the inspection is done at an inspection station, not at the ramp. Kayaks and paddleboards don't need one. The ramp runs seasonally, and the city has opened and closed it in past years depending on lake levels, so check with the city before you tow.
At the ramp
The state boating facilities database lists 55 parking spaces for cars with trailers, plus restrooms, a picnic and day-use area, a swimming area and a snack bar at Lakeview Commons. The city charges a launch fee; confirm current rates and hours with the city before you go.
