Marina guide
Stockton Downtown Marina
Stockton, San Joaquin County, CA
Overview
Stockton Downtown Marina sits on the downtown waterfront of the San Joaquin River, a short walk from the Stockton Arena, the ballpark and the Waterfront Warehouse restaurants. It is a City of Stockton facility with 48 covered 50-foot slips plus uncovered berths for boats up to 80 feet, and it is the easiest place to tie up in the Delta's biggest inland city.
Guest docks along the waterfront
Visitors do not need a slip. The marina posts two guest-dock stretches: the North Shore (878 linear feet, near the ballpark, arena and hotel) and the South Shore (520 linear feet, near the warehouse, museum and promenade). Boats staying under two hours tie up free. Longer stays pay a day or overnight rate that is lower from November to March than from April to October. The South Shore has restrooms and showers.
Launching in town
The closest trailer launch is Morelli Park, a four-lane ramp at 1025 W. Weber Avenue directly under Interstate 5. Louis Park, at the west end of Monte Diablo Avenue, is the city's other San Joaquin River ramp and is open sunrise to sunset.
Good to know
Golden mussels were first found in North America at Rough and Ready Island and Turner Cut near Stockton in October 2024, so Clean, Drain and Dry applies on every launch here.
Getting there & access
By water
The marina is on the San Joaquin River in downtown Stockton. Before running upriver from the main Delta, check current NOAA charts and the Division of Boating and Waterways Delta Boat Guide for channel and depth conditions, and call the marina at (209) 462-4200 for guest-dock availability.
Guest dock procedure
Two guest-dock stretches are marked on the waterfront. The North Shore (878 linear feet) is by the ballpark, arena and hotel; the South Shore (520 linear feet) is by the warehouse, museum and promenade. Tie-ups under two hours are free; all-day and overnight stays are charged by season (November to March and April to October). The marina office is at 445 W. Weber Avenue, Suite 128-B; call (209) 462-4200 or email marina@asmstockton.com.
Morelli Park ramp
Morelli Park Boat Launch is a four-lane ramp under I-5 at 1025 W. Weber Avenue. The city lists summer hours of 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. and states that overnight parking is not permitted. Posted fees are $13 for a vehicle with trailer and $10 for a vehicle without one, with an annual pass available; the July 4 fee is higher. Restrooms are on site.
Louis Park and Buckley Cove
Louis Park Boat Launch (3121 Monte Diablo Avenue) is open sunrise to sunset and is subject to temporary maintenance closures; the San Joaquin Area Flood Control Agency, (209) 487-1387, handles updates. The city's Buckley Cove launch (4911 Buckley Cove Way) is listed with a temporary closure from October to December 2026, so Morelli and Louis Park are the alternatives.
By road
Downtown Stockton is on Interstate 5. Morelli Park is reached from Weber Avenue directly beneath the freeway, and the marina is a little under a mile east along the waterfront.

Common boat service needs here
Hull cleaning and bottom care
Boats kept in the slips sit in warm, slow-moving river water all summer. Growth builds on the hull and running gear, and owners typically schedule regular diver cleaning.
Find Bottom Cleaning, Hull Cleaning & Dive Services providers →Mechanical service for river use
Delta boats pick up weeds and silt in cooling intakes and run long hours in summer heat, so impeller, cooling-system and engine servicing are common.
Find Marine Mechanics & Engine Service providers →Covers and canvas
Stockton summers are hot and dry, and strong sun wears out canvas, bimini tops and upholstery. Covered slips help but do not stop UV on boats left in open berths.
Find Canvas, Covers & Upholstery providers →Trailer and delivery help
Many Stockton owners trailer between the Delta, the Bay and the Sierra lakes, and boats going to or from Morelli Park often use towing or transport services.
