Marina guide
Spud Point Marina
Bodega Bay, Sonoma County, CA
Overview
Spud Point Marina is Sonoma County Regional Parks' marina on Bodega Harbor, at 1818 Westshore Road, about 60 miles northwest of San Francisco and 20 miles west of Santa Rosa. Commercial fishing boats and recreational boats share it, and its fuel dock and free pump-out serve the whole harbor. The state boating facilities directory lists 244 slips for boats 20 to 90 feet and up to 15 liveaboards.
Layout and services
Slips come in 30-, 40-, 44-, 48- and 60-foot sizes, and end ties take vessels up to 148 feet. The fuel dock sells gas, diesel and ice. Shore power is 30 and 50 amps. Ashore there are restrooms with showers, coin laundry and paid Wi-Fi.
Visiting
There's a guest dock with overnight berthing priced by boat length, from $23.50 for 30 feet and under to $80 for 91 feet and up. Hail "Spud Point Marina" on VHF 16. The marina operates 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily, and boats must finish fueling by 3:30 p.m.
Good to know
Monthly slips are waitlisted, liveaboard spots are full and dry storage isn't currently available. Bodega Harbor's federal channel shoals between dredgings, and the County has reported frequent groundings, particularly among visiting boats, so time your arrival with the tide.
Getting there & access
By water
Spud Point is on the west side of Bodega Harbor, reached through the dredged federal channel from Bodega Bay. Jetties protect the entrance; the south jetty has a light and sound signal, and the channel inside is marked by daybeacons, lights and a lighted range. The County has reported shoaling and groundings, so watch the tide. Hail the marina on VHF 16.

Common boat service needs here
Diver hull cleaning
Boats sitting year-round in Bodega Harbor's cold, nutrient-rich water pick up growth on hulls, props and through-hulls. Regular diver cleaning is the norm for slip holders.
Find Bottom Cleaning, Hull Cleaning & Dive Services providers →Engine and mechanical service
Many boats here fish for salmon and crab in open ocean. With no dry storage on site, much engine, fuel-system and cooling work happens in the slip.
Find Marine Mechanics & Engine Service providers →Electrical
Salt air is hard on 30/50-amp shore-power connections, battery banks and wiring, so corrosion and charging problems are common calls.
Find Marine Electrical & Electronics providers →Canvas and covers
Wind and salt on the exposed Sonoma coast wear out covers, enclosures and cushions on boats kept in the water.
