Pleasure Point Landing

Big Bear Lake, San Bernardino County, CA

Overview

Pleasure Point Landing, also listed as Pleasure Point Marina, is a private marina on the south shore of Big Bear Lake at 603 Landlock Landing Rd. in the city of Big Bear Lake. It's one of a handful of lakeside businesses where trailer boaters, renters and slip holders all meet, and for the 2026 season it is one of only two private marinas offering day launches.

What's here

The marina has a boarding float, transient tie-ups, rental slips and moorings, a fuel dock, boat rentals, a convenience store with fishing tackle, a washdown area, haul-out and repair service, dry storage for about 20 boats and a small trailer lot of 6 spaces. It handles boats from 12 to 26 feet, which matches the lake's 26-foot limit.

Boating at Big Bear

Big Bear Lake is managed by the Big Bear Municipal Water District, which runs the permit and invasive-mussel inspection program. Nothing goes in the water without a lake use permit and a passed inspection, and boats must arrive clean, drained and dry. The lake has a 35 mph limit by day, 10 mph after sunset, and slow zones near shore and in the coves.

Before you go

With only six trailer spaces, plan on an early arrival on summer weekends. Call ahead to confirm day-launch availability and inspection hours.

Getting there & access

By road

The marina is at 603 Landlock Landing Rd. on the south side of the lake in the city of Big Bear Lake. Trailer parking is limited to about six spaces, so arrive early on busy days and stage your boat in the lot, not on the ramp.

Launching here

For the 2026 season the Water District reports that day launches at private marinas are available only at Pleasure Point and Big Bear Marina. Expect your boat to be inspected by certified staff before launch, and call the marina to confirm hours and launch fees.

Permits and inspection

Before launching, every boat needs a Big Bear Municipal Water District lake use permit and a passed invasive-mussel inspection. 2026 permits for registered vessels are $148 for the season or $46 for one day; non-registered craft such as kayaks and paddleboards are $68 for the season or $29 for one day. Permits are sold at the public launch ramps, many private marinas and the District office (the office does not inspect boats). In 2026 the District directs all of its own ramp inspections to the East Ramp at 41911 North Shore Dr.

On the water

Big Bear's speed limit is 35 mph, dropping to 10 mph from sunset to 7 a.m. and 5 mph between the shoreline buoys and shore. Skiers and towed riders run counter-clockwise, and towing is allowed only from 7 a.m. to sunset.

Common boat service needs here

Winterization and engine service

Big Bear sits high in the San Bernardino Mountains and the boating season is built around spring opening and late-fall closing. Engines, cooling systems and water lines need winterizing before freezing nights, and a spring tune-up before the April opening.

Clean, drain, dry and washdowns

Boats must reach the lake clean, drained and dry or face decontamination fees, so owners who also visit other lakes rely on thorough wash-and-dry service between trips.

Covers and canvas

Strong high-altitude sun in summer and snow in winter are hard on Bimini tops, mooring covers and seats, so fitted covers and canvas repair are steady needs for boats left in slips or storage.

Trailering to the mountain

Most boats arrive by trailer up steep mountain highways and owners with slips still haul out for winter, so transport and haul-out help is common.
