Marina guide

Lime Saddle Marina

Paradise, Butte County, CA

Overview

Lime Saddle Marina, listed by the state as Lake Oroville Marina, sits in the Lime Saddle Recreation Area on the western shore of Lake Oroville's North Fork arm, off Pentz Road between Paradise and Oroville. It's a convenient launch for boaters coming from the Paradise side of the lake.

The ramp

The Lime Saddle boat ramp has five lanes, and two of them extend down to 702 feet of lake elevation for lower-water access. The lot at the top of the ramp has ADA spaces. In summer 2025 the state listed ramp hours of 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily; Oroville ramps are no longer open around the clock.

The marina

The marina rents houseboats from about 50 to 70 feet, plus ski boats and deck cruisers. It has a fuel dock, a convenience store and snack bar with tackle and bait, a fish-cleaning station, transient tie-ups, power and water on the docks, haul-out and repair, and a sewage pump-out.

Mussel inspection

Since May 16, 2025, every trailered boat and personal watercraft needs an inspection and an intact blue seal to launch on Lake Oroville. Inspections are free at the North Thermalito Forebay station, so plan that stop before driving up to Lime Saddle.

Getting there & access

By road

Lime Saddle is reached from Pentz Road between Paradise and Highway 70. The marina address is 3428 Pentz Road.

Inspection first

Before launching anywhere on Lake Oroville, trailered boats and PWC must pass a free inspection at North Thermalito Forebay (Garden Drive and Highway 70, Oroville). In 2025 the station ran 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. daily. Boats must be clean and fully dry; bring the keys, and boats with ballast, bilge or motors need a working battery.

Launching

The five-lane ramp has two lanes that reach down to 702 feet of elevation. In summer 2025 ramp hours were 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily. Check current hours with DWR before you go.

Leaving the lake

Have your boat sealed at the ramp when you leave. If the seal stays intact, you don't need to return to the inspection station before your next Oroville launch.

Rules & official resources

Common boat service needs here

Ballast and bilge dry-out

Oroville's inspectors require boats to be fully dry, and boats with ballast tanks may need hot-water decontamination. Owners of wake boats often book a professional clean and dry before each trip.

Engine and battery checks

Inspection requires motors and ballast systems to be operational with a working battery. A pre-season engine and electrical check avoids being turned away.

Houseboat maintenance

Houseboats moored at Lime Saddle need regular generator, plumbing and engine service through a long, hot season.
