Marina guide
Digger Bay Marina
Shasta Lake, Shasta County, CA
Overview
Digger Bay Marina is a full-service marina near Shasta Dam, tucked into Digger Bay at the end of Digger Bay Road in the city of Shasta Lake. It's a short drive from Redding via Shasta Dam Boulevard, which suits boaters who want quick access to the dam end of the lake.
Services
The state boating facilities directory lists fuel sales, a convenience store, fishing tackle, ice, boat rentals, haul-out and repair, gear lockers, showers, a boat washdown area, carry-down walkways, transient tie-ups and power, water and phone on the docks. It also offers oil disposal and a sewage pump-out. A state spill-response plan notes the fuel is stored on a barge.
Launching
The marina has its own commercial launch ramp, which is usually open year-round. The Forest Service lists it as one of three commercial ramps on the lake and suggests avoiding commercial ramps on busy summer holiday weekends. The public Centimudi ramp, under 1.5 miles away near the dam, is the main alternative and keeps two lanes in service down to about 210 feet of drawdown.
Road notes
Digger Bay Road is narrow and winding, so take it slowly with a big rig or a long trailer.
Getting there & access
By road
Leave I-5 at Exit 685 (Shasta Dam Boulevard, SR 151) and head west about 2.25 miles. Turn north on Shasta Park Drive and go about 0.6 mile; it becomes Digger Bay Road and ends at the marina. The road is narrow and winding, which can be tight for large trucks and long trailers.
Launching
The marina's commercial ramp is usually open all year. On busy summer holiday weekends the Forest Service suggests avoiding commercial ramps. Call the marina at (530) 275-3072 for current ramp status and fees.
Public alternative: Centimudi
The Forest Service Centimudi ramp sits near Shasta Dam. It has four lanes and a courtesy dock to about 75 feet of drawdown, three lanes to about 95 feet and two lanes down to about 210 feet, plus 105 lighted parking spaces. Day use is $18 per vehicle.

Common boat service needs here
Haul-out and engine work
With haul-out and repair on site, Digger Bay owners commonly handle seasonal engine service, impeller changes and running-gear checks before the summer rush.
Find Marine Mechanics & Engine Service providers →Hull cleaning
Boats left in a slip all summer collect a scum line and algae in warm lake water. Periodic hull cleaning keeps them clean and makes the dry-out for mussel rules easier when moving lakes.
Find Bottom Cleaning, Hull Cleaning & Dive Services providers →UV and canvas
Long, hot Redding-area summers are hard on covers, biminis and upholstery. Canvas repair and replacement is a routine need.
Find Canvas, Covers & Upholstery providers →Moorage and storage
Digger Bay is a short drive from Redding, and many owners keep boats in a slip here rather than towing each trip.
