Marina guide
Camp Richardson Marina
South Lake Tahoe, El Dorado County, CA
Overview
Camp Richardson Marina is the waterfront of the Camp Richardson Historic Resort on the south shore of Lake Tahoe, at 1900 Jameson Beach Road. The state boating-facilities directory lists it as a public marina on US Forest Service land, with a launch for boats from 10 to 35 feet. It was formerly called Anchorage Marina.
Layout and services
The state directory shows 15 trailer parking spaces, one boarding float and one carry-down walkway. It lists boat rentals, fuel sales, haul-out and repair, transient berths, restrooms, showers, water at the docks, and oil disposal and sewage or bilge pump-out services. Next to the marina are the resort's lodging, restaurant and swimming and picnic areas. The marina itself offers moorings but no slips.
Rentals and cruises
Action Watersports operates rentals here: powerboats, jet skis, kayaks and stand-up paddle boards, plus water taxis and scenic cruises, including a Vikingsholm cruise and tour package. Rentals are a good way to reach Emerald Bay without towing your own boat to Tahoe. Hours change with the season, so call the resort at (530) 542-6570 before you plan around it.
Boating here
Motorized boats must stay under 5 mph within 600 feet of shore, and every motorized boat must clear a Tahoe inspection and decontamination first.

Common boat service needs here
Engine service and winterizing
Boats that live on trailers and come to Tahoe for the summer need pre-season engine service and a full winterization in fall. Cold water and short seasons make fogging and fuel treatment routine.
Find Marine Mechanics & Engine Service providers →Detailing and washdowns
Pollen, dust and lake minerals leave spotting on gelcoat. Rental fleets and private boats alike are washed and waxed regularly through the season.
Find Boat Detailing & Washing providers →Canvas and upholstery
High-altitude UV and Tahoe's temperature swings wear out covers, Bimini tops and cushions faster than low-elevation lakes.
Find Canvas, Covers & Upholstery providers →Transport and trailering
Many south-shore boats travel up US 50 on trailers each season, and hiring a transport service avoids a long mountain drive before the required inspection.
