Marina guide
Cabrillo Way Marina
San Pedro, Los Angeles County, CA
Overview
Cabrillo Way Marina is a Port of Los Angeles marina on the east side of the Cabrillo waterfront in San Pedro. The marina lists about 695 wet slips for boats from 28 to 130 feet, plus roughly 375 dry storage spaces, making it one of the larger recreational facilities in the harbor. The Port owns the property and a marina management company runs it, and it opened in its current form in 2011 with Spanish-style architecture.
Layout and who uses it
The wet-slip office is at 2293 Miner Street (Berth 39), and the dry storage yard is a short distance away at 2845 S. Miner Street (Berth 43). Owners keep everything from cruising sailboats and sportfishers to larger motor yachts here. Dry storage suits trailerable and smaller powerboats that owners want to keep out of the water between trips. The marina has been a certified Clean Marina since 2014.
Guest slips and services
The marina offers guest slips. Rates are not published online, so call the office before you arrive to check availability and pricing. Slips have water and electricity at 30 to 50 amp service, and the marina lists pump-outs, restrooms, showers, lockers, dock carts, free Wi-Fi, ice and ample parking. There are also dinghy and kayak racks.
Boating from here
The marina sits inside the Los Angeles Harbor breakwater, close to Cabrillo Beach and its public launch ramp. Boats head out through the harbor to the Angels Gate entrance and then to the open Pacific, the Palos Verdes coast or across the San Pedro Channel to Catalina. Remember that you share the harbor with large commercial ships, so monitor VHF channel 16 and 14 and keep well clear of deep-draft traffic.
Getting there & access
By water
Enter the Port of Los Angeles through the Angels Gate entrance in the federal breakwater, then follow the harbor to the Cabrillo waterfront. The harbor entrance is shared with deep-draft commercial vessels, so keep a lookout, avoid crossing close ahead of large ships and monitor VHF channels 16, 14 and 13.
Guest slips
The marina lists guest slips but does not publish a count or rates online. Call the office at (310) 514-4985 during office hours to reserve or confirm availability before you arrive. The office is closed on Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's Day.
By road
The wet-slip office is at 2293 Miner Street (Berth 39) and the dry storage yard is at 2845 S. Miner Street (Berth 43), both in San Pedro 90731. Parking is listed as ample. The Cabrillo Beach launch ramp is a short drive away off Shoshonean Road.

The marina lists pump-outs on site. The Jankovich fuel dock is listed nearby at (310) 547-3305, and the Cabrillo Marine Fuel Dock at 210 Whalers Walk also serves the area, so check hours before you head for fuel.

Common boat service needs here
Bottom and hull cleaning
Boats kept in the warm harbor water pick up marine growth quickly. Slip holders typically schedule regular diver cleanings, and the Port discourages improper in-water hull cleaning, so use a professional diver who follows Clean Marina practices.
Find Bottom Cleaning, Hull Cleaning & Dive Services providers →Bottom paint and haul-outs
Antifouling paint wears out with constant immersion, so owners plan periodic haul-outs for bottom paint, zincs and running gear at a nearby yard.
Find Bottom Painting & Antifouling providers →Dry storage and slip services
With a large dry storage yard and hundreds of slips, owners often need help with storage, launching and dock services.
Find Marinas, Storage & Dock Services providers →Engine service for channel crossings
Many boats here make the run to Catalina, so engine, cooling-system and generator service before the season is a steady need.
Find Marine Mechanics & Engine Service providers →Canvas and detailing
Strong Southern California sun and salt spray wear down canvas, enclosures and gelcoat, so washdowns and canvas repair are common.
