Marina guide
Bridge Bay Resort & Marina
Redding, Shasta County, CA
Overview
Bridge Bay Resort and Marina sits at 10300 Bridge Bay Road off I-5 on the Pit River Arm of Shasta Lake. The Forest Service describes the Bridge Bay marina as the largest inland marina on the West Coast. It's the lake's main houseboat rental base, with moorage, a fuel dock, a launch ramp, a store and a restaurant.
Houseboat rentals
Bridge Bay rents houseboats year-round with a minimum booking of three days and two nights. Renters must be at least 21 with a valid driver's license. Renters pay for the fuel they use, and fuel containers aren't allowed aboard. Pets are welcome. The operator states a Boater Card isn't required for its rental vessels, but people operating their own boats need one.
Moorage, fuel and launch
Small boat slips are in marinas 1 and 2 with no power. Houseboat slips are in marinas 1 through 5, with shore power only on marinas 3, 4 and 5. Moorage is first come, first served with no reservations or waiting list, and applicants need a current vessel registration, a photo and insurance. California's boating facilities listing shows a fuel dock, a launch with five boarding floats, 250 trailer parking spaces, haul-out and boat repair, and a sewage and bilge pump-out. It lists boats from 9 to 56 feet.
Good to know
Golden, zebra and quagga mussels are prohibited on Shasta Lake and its ramps under a Forest Order, so clean, drain and dry. Check current lake levels before launching, since ramp lanes depend on drawdown.
Getting there & access
By road
Bridge Bay is on Bridge Bay Road, which exits I-5, and the operator describes the resort as adjacent to the interstate. The operator lists GPS N40 45.150, W122 19.330.
Launching your own boat
California's boating facilities listing shows a launch with five boarding floats and 250 spaces for cars with trailers. Ramp lanes at Shasta Lake depend on lake drawdown, so check current lake levels or call the front desk before towing.
Fuel and services
The state facilities listing shows fuel sales, haul-out and boat repair, oil disposal and sewage and bilge pump-out, plus restrooms, showers and water on the dock. Ask the marina for current fuel types and hours.
Moorage procedure
