B&W Resort Marina

Isleton, Sacramento County, CA

Overview

B&W Resort Marina is a privately run, public-access marina and launch on the Mokelumne River at 964 Brannan Island Road, outside Isleton in Sacramento County. It is a one-stop resort: a place to launch a trailer boat, rent a berth for the season, or tie up for the night and stay on shore.

Layout

The state boating facilities directory lists 105 slips and tie-ups for boats from about 20 to 42 feet, two boarding floats, two carry-down walkways and 70 parking spaces for cars with trailers. There is no dry storage on site, so it suits owners who either keep a boat in the water or trailer in for the day.

Who uses it

Weekend trailer boaters, anglers and families who want a store, fuel, a snack bar and lodging in one stop. The resort also offers launching valet service, which helps first-timers and solo boaters on busy days.

Boating here

The Mokelumne system (main stem plus the North and South forks, with Georgiana Slough nearby) is tidal fresh water with long, winding channels popular for cruising, skiing and fishing. Tides and current change the depth at the ramp and docks through the day, so check a tide table before launching larger boats.

Golden mussel

The Delta is where golden mussel was first found in North America, in October 2024. Clean, drain and dry every time you pull out, especially if you also boat on inland lakes.

Rules & official resources

Common boat service needs here

Bottom and hull cleaning

Boats kept in a slip on warm, slow-moving Delta water pick up growth over the summer, and golden mussel now lives in these waters. Owners who berth here benefit from regular hull cleaning and a careful look at intakes and running gear.

Engine and cooling-system service

Mussels and weed can clog raw-water intakes and strainers. Seasonal engine service, impeller changes and intake checks keep inboards and outboards cooling properly on long Delta runs.

Washdown and detailing

Clean, Drain and Dry is expected every time a trailered boat leaves the Delta. A thorough washdown and detail also keeps hot-summer dust and river film off gelcoat.

Canvas and covers

Strong Central Valley sun and afternoon wind are hard on bimini tops and covers on boats left in open slips. Many slip holders need canvas repairs or replacement every few seasons.
