About this lake
West Valley Reservoir is a mountain reservoir in the West Valley area west of Likely, surrounded by forest and open meadow.
On the water
Modoc County maintains a public boat ramp for fishing boats, kayaks, canoes and other small craft. The reservoir is used for boating, fishing and paddling in spring, summer and fall. The county asks boaters to wear life jackets, keep the area clean and help prevent the spread of invasive species. California requires a Mussel Fee Sticker on boats used in fresh water.
