About this lake
T.K. Jones Campground and Boat Launch is at Xanyō Xamshré Lake ("Star Lake" in the Quechan language), formerly called Squaw Lake, on the backwaters of the Colorado River directly above Imperial Dam, north of Yuma. The Bureau of Land Management's Yuma Field Office runs it.
On the water
There's a paved boat launch with docks and paved trailer parking, plus a car-top launch area and a smaller concrete ramp for canoes and kayaks near the day-use parking. The boarding piers have no railings or bumpers. A 5 mph no-wake zone runs out to the Colorado River. There are no lifeguards. California requires a Mussel Fee Sticker on boats used in fresh water.
Camping
About 125 RV sites and many dispersed tent sites have no hookups. Four restrooms have flush toilets and showers (separate fee), with a central water point and trash and gray-water disposal. The stay limit is 14 days in any 28. Cell reception is spotty, and off-highway vehicles aren't allowed.
