Camping
Tioga Lake Campground has 13 first-come sites on the lake at $30 a night, with vault toilets, drinking water and bear boxes that must be used. Only small RVs and short trailers fit, and there are no hookups. The Forest Service listed it as closed in late September 2026.
Getting there & access
Getting there
From Highway 395 at Lee Vining, drive west on Highway 120 toward Tioga Pass.
Mussel inspection
Since April 2026, Mono County requires every trailered boat and jet ski to be inspected before launching. Inspections, decontamination and the Eastern Sierra mussel sticker are free at Eastern Sierra WID stations (Bridgeport and Bishop among them). Residents inspect once a year; visitors inspect on entering Mono or Inyo County, and again after launching anywhere outside the two counties. Arrive clean, drained and dry.
