About this lake

Santa Fe Dam Recreation Area is an 836-acre LA County park in Irwindale, built around a 70-acre lake below the Santa Fe Dam in the San Gabriel Valley.

On the water

The lake is for non-motorized watercraft only, so it's a calm place for kayaks, paddleboards and pedal boats. Boat and pedal boat rentals are available, and fishing is open year-round.

Swimming and summer

A five-acre chlorinated swim lake opens in summer, Wednesday through Sunday, with weekend-only days in late spring. Splash pads open in mid-June.

Hours

The park is closed Mondays and Tuesdays from March through October. Otherwise it opens at 6 a.m. and closes at 8 p.m. in summer and 6 p.m. in winter.
