Overview
Puddingstone Lake is the reservoir at the heart of Frank G. Bonelli Regional Park in San Dimas, run by LA County Parks. It has trailer launching, rentals, fishing and a swim beach on the same lake.
Layout
The DBW lists the lake's launch at 120 East Via Verde Park Drive, with 180 trailer parking spaces, two boarding floats and two carry-down walkways. Wheel Fun Rentals operates boat rentals in the park, and the park has a fish cleaning station, restrooms, showers and a snack bar.
What makes boating here different
The lake is open to boating Wednesday through Sunday only, from sunrise until half an hour before sunset. From April to September an odd-even system is in effect: power boats run on even calendar days and personal watercraft on odd days. Boats must be at least 8 feet and no more than 26 feet long.
Inspection and permits
Every vessel must be quagga and safety inspected and get a launch permit before launching. Daily permits are $12 for motorized boats and $9 for non-motorized. Annual passes are $150 for motorized boats ($80 for seniors) and $105 for non-motorized ($50 for seniors). Animals aren't allowed in the water or on the sand beaches.
