About this lake
Prosser Creek Reservoir sits just north of Truckee in the Tahoe National Forest, about 1.5 miles above where Prosser Creek meets the Truckee River.
On the water
Power boats are allowed with a 10 mph speed limit, which keeps it popular with kayakers, canoeists, paddleboarders and swimmers. The boat ramp is at Prosser Ranch Group Campground at the end of the campground road on the west side, and boaters fill out a self-service aquatic invasive species form before launching. Hand launching works at Lakeside campground and the north and south ends, depending on the water level.
Fishing and camping
Fishing is open year-round, with ice fishing in winter. Family and group campgrounds sit on the northwest side off Highway 89.
Getting there & access
Getting there
Take Highway 89 north from Truckee to the Prosser campground road; the ramp is at the end of the road on the west side.
