About this lake
Lundy Lake is a 100-acre reservoir in Lundy Canyon, about 5 miles up Lundy Lake Road from Highway 395 north of Lee Vining. It was enlarged to its present size in 1910.
On the water
Lundy Lake Resort at the west end rents boats and has a launch with a carry-down walkway and parking for about 50 cars with trailers; DBW lists boats up to about 14 feet. Trolling for trout is popular. Trailered boats need the free Eastern Sierra mussel inspection and sticker before launching.
Camping and fishing
The resort has RV hookups, tent sites, cabins and a general store. Mono County's Lundy Canyon Campground has 36 first-come sites with restrooms and non-potable water. The lake holds rainbow and brown trout, and Mill Creek below it has small wild trout near the beaver ponds.
Low water
In dry years the lake can run low but is usually still fishable.
Getting there & access
Getting there
From Highway 395 north of Lee Vining, turn west on Lundy Lake Road and drive about 5 miles.
Mussel inspection
Since April 2026, Mono County requires every trailered boat and jet ski to be inspected before launching. Inspections, decontamination and the Eastern Sierra mussel sticker are free at Eastern Sierra WID stations (list at EasternSierraWID.com). Residents inspect once a year; visitors inspect on entering Mono or Inyo County, and again after launching anywhere outside the two counties. Arrive clean, drained and dry.
