Legg Lake sits in Whittier Narrows Recreation Area, a large Los Angeles County regional park in South El Monte along the Rio Hondo.
On the water
Pedal boats rent through Wheel Fun Rentals. The lake is a popular fishing spot, and the park runs a free Jr. Fishing Club for ages 5 to 15 on Saturdays.

Car-free paths wind around the water, and the paved LaRio bike paths start nearby. The park is open Wednesday to Sunday.

From the 60 Freeway, exit Santa Anita Avenue, head south and turn right on Durfee Avenue to the lake entrance.
