About this lake

Lake Morena is a San Diego County park in the backcountry near Campo, at about 3,000 feet, close to the Pacific Crest Trail.

On the water

The park rents motorboats and rowboats, and private boats can launch after passing a quagga mussel inspection. The speed limit is 10 mph, and water skiing, swimming and other body contact with the water aren't allowed. Rentals stop in high heat, wind, rain, lightning or snow.

Fishing and camping

Rainbow trout are stocked several times a year; a county fishing permit and a state license are both needed. The park has 86 campsites, group sites, some partial-hookup RV sites and wilderness cabins.
