About this lake

Lake Miramar (Miramar Reservoir) is a City of San Diego reservoir in Scripps Ranch, open daily from sunrise to sunset.

On the water

Private boats, canoes, kayaks and float tubes are allowed. Stand-up paddleboards aren't, and neither is swimming or wading. Dogs can't ride in boats.

Fishing

Anglers catch largemouth bass, trout, catfish, crappie, sunfish and carp. The city charges a daily fishing permit on top of a state license for anglers 16 and over.

Before you go

The city has posted an algae bloom advisory asking visitors to avoid contact with the water and keep pets out until conditions improve. Check the city's reservoir page before you go.

Getting there

The entrance is on Scripps Lake Drive in Scripps Ranch.

Closures

Closed the first Tuesday of every month and on Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's Day.
