Gas motors are prohibited and private power boats aren't allowed. The motorized boats you'll see, such as Duffy boats and fishing boats with electric motors, are rentals.

History

The lake was built as a WPA project starting in 1937 on land called Houston Flat. Redlands grower Arthur Gregory, Sr. financed its completion, and the dam and Lake Drive across it were finished in January 1939.

Season

Non-powered boating and fishing are year-round. The swim beach and summer waterpark run from Memorial Day weekend to Labor Day weekend. The lake is stocked with trout in spring and fall.
