About this lake

Jenkinson Lake is the lake at Sly Park Recreation Area in Pollock Pines, run year-round by the El Dorado Irrigation District (EID).

Launch restrictions

To keep golden mussels out, EID limits trailer launching. A trailered boat can launch only if it carries an EID tag and has finished a 30-day quarantine, was last launched at Sly Park with an intact exit tag, carries a verified tag from another agency, or was decontaminated by the Tahoe Regional Planning Agency. Untagged boats must be hand-launched. Kayaks, canoes and paddleboards that are clean, drained and dry can launch.

Around the lake

The recreation area has campgrounds, a snack bar and boat rentals. Tagging is done at the entrance, 4771 Sly Park Road, daily from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
