About this lake
Hansen Dam Recreational Lake is a city-run lake in the Hansen Dam flood basin in Lake View Terrace. The Army Corps of Engineers owns the 1940 dam, and the City of Los Angeles runs the recreation area.
On the water
The lake is open for fishing, kayaking and general boating, and the Aquatic Center runs paddleboard and kayak programs. Pedal boats rent on Saturdays and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Nearby
The separate Swim Lake is open for public swimming in summer only. Equestrian trails and a golf course surround the basin.
