French Meadows Reservoir is a remote reservoir in the Tahoe National Forest, reached through Foresthill.
On the water
The McGuire boat ramp on the north shore serves both motorized and paddle boats. It's open for day use from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m., June through September, and costs $5 per vehicle. Restrooms are nearby, but there's no drinking water.
Before you go
The Forest Service calls the area extremely remote with no services, so start with a full tank of gas and bring water. French Meadows Campground is near the ramp.
