About this lake

Echo Park Lake is a 14-acre lake in the Echo Park neighborhood, with downtown Los Angeles in view. It began as a drinking-water reservoir in 1868 and became a city park by 1895.

On the water

Swan pedal boats rent from the boathouse seven days a week through the Wheel Fun Rentals concession.

Around the lake

A path circles the water past the lotus beds, replanted during the 2011-2013 renovation, and the Lady of the Lake statue from 1935. The Lotus Festival takes place every July.
