About this lake

Crowley Lake (Long Valley Reservoir) is the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power's big Eastern Sierra reservoir south of Mammoth Lakes, best known for trout fishing.

On the water

The 2026 fishing season opened April 25. Every trailered boat enters through the main gate at South Landing for a mussel inspection; boats with an intact tag from the previous year don't need re-inspecting. Wakeboard boats with ballast tanks that lack a tag need decontamination, so call LADWP ahead.

Crowley Lake Fish Camp

The concession at South Landing rents boats and sells fuel, bait, tackle and supplies, with campsites, showers and dry storage.

Getting there & access

Getting there

Fish Camp is at 1149 South Landing Road off Highway 395.

Inspection

Enter through the South Landing main gate. Keep last year's tag intact to skip re-inspection; ballast wakeboard boats without a tag need decontamination.

Mussel inspection

Since April 2026, every trailered boat used in Mono and Inyo counties must be inspected before launching and carry the free Eastern Sierra mussel sticker on boat and trailer. Arrive clean, drained and dry.
