About this lake

Contra Loma Regional Park is a 775-acre East Bay park in Antioch built around an 80-acre reservoir that's open for fishing year-round.

Boating

You can launch your own canoe, kayak, inflatable, sailboat, rowboat or electric boat up to 17 feet; gas motorboats aren't allowed. Windsurfers and paddleboarders must shower for at least two minutes and wear at least a short wetsuit before going in. There are no boat rentals.

Golden mussels

Golden mussels have been found in Contra Loma Reservoir. Any boat launched here is quarantined for 30 days from other Park District lakes, so plan trips to Lake Chabot or Shadow Cliffs accordingly.

Fishing

The reservoir holds catfish, black and striped bass, bluegill, trout and red-eared sunfish, and the south fishing dock is wheelchair accessible. The swim lagoon is closed while the district decides its future.
