Tyson Street Beach and Park

Tyson Street Beach is on The Strand, within walking distance of the Oceanside Pier. Next to it, Tyson Street Park has a large lawn, picnic tables, benches and a playground, and there are restrooms and showers.

In the water

Lifeguard Tower 5 watches this stretch. Surfing is prohibited here because of summer crowds, so it's a beach for swimming and wading.

Getting there

Stairs lead down from Pacific Street. Parking is metered on Pacific Street, and there's a lot at Mission Avenue and Myers Street. You can't park on The Strand.

Rules

City of Oceanside beach rules apply: no dogs on the beach, no alcohol, no glass, and fires only in designated City fire rings. There's a hot-coal container at Tyson Street Park for barbecue coals.
