About this beach

Torrey Pines State Beach runs about 4.5 miles from Del Mar past Los Peñasquitos Lagoon to the sandstone cliffs below Torrey Pines Mesa, at 12600 North Torrey Pines Road.

Parking

There are two lots with demand-based pricing: South Beach, $15 to $20 per vehicle, which also leads to the upper reserve, and North Beach, $10 to $25. When the South Beach lot fills, the entrance closes and visitors are sent to North Beach. Annual state park passes are accepted. RVs longer than a parking space can use designated North Beach spots only.

Hours

Gates open at 7:15 a.m. and close at sunset; the kiosk is staffed from 9 a.m. until about a half hour before sunset. It's day use only.

Cliffs and rules

Rockslides and cliff collapses happen without warning, so stay at least 10 feet from the bluffs and walk at low tide when you can. Dogs aren't allowed anywhere in the beach or reserve, even in a vehicle.

Facilities

There are restrooms and showers, picnic tables, EV charging and a free beach wheelchair (check out at the South Beach kiosk).
