About this beach
San Elijo State Beach sits on the bluffs above the ocean at 2050 South Coast Highway 101 in Cardiff, about three-quarters of a mile north of San Elijo Lagoon's mouth.
Camping
The campground has tent sites and RV and trailer sites with hookups, plus an RV dump station. Length limits are 35 feet for non-hookup sites and 24 feet for hookup sites. Check-in is 2 p.m., with no early check-in, and sites book through ReserveCalifornia. Only approved concessionaires may deliver RVs.
Day use
Day use is $8 a car, or $20 on holidays, weekends and in peak season. The park is open dawn to sunset; call the kiosk to confirm hours.
Facilities
There are restrooms, showers, outdoor showers and drinking water, a camp store and restaurant, and firewood sales. A reef offshore is part of a State Marine Conservation Area.
Dogs
Dogs are allowed in the campground but not on the beach.

From I-5, exit at Encinitas Boulevard, head west, turn left on South Coast Highway and follow it about 2 miles south.
