About this beach

Manresa State Beach is bluff-backed sand on Monterey Bay, south of Aptos. From Highway 1, take San Andreas Road southwest for a few miles to the day-use area at 1445 San Andreas Road. People come for surf fishing and clamming.

Safety

Rip currents, cold water and deep drop-offs make swimming and surfing hazardous for all but the most experienced. Snowy plovers nest on the beach; stay out of posted areas.

Camping

Manresa Uplands, at 205 Manresa Uplands Road, has tent-only camping (no RVs) from mid-May through October.

Rules

The park is open 8 a.m. to sunset; vehicle day use is $10. Leashed dogs are allowed on the beach, unlike at neighboring Sunset State Beach. Fires only in park fire rings, and no alcohol on the beach or in day use.
