About this beach

Little Corona del Mar is a small cove in Corona del Mar, Newport Beach, sheltered by rocky reefs on both sides. Because the reefs block most swell, it's one of the easier beaches here for swimming and snorkeling. Buoys about 150 yards out keep boats and jet skis away.

Tide pools

The tide pools show at low tide. They're in a marine protected area: don't take or move anything, even shells.

Getting down

From Pacific Coast Highway, turn toward the ocean on Poppy Avenue, which ends on a cliff above the beach. A paved path with no stairs leads down. Parking is free but limited to the street.

Rules

Newport Beach rules apply: dogs aren't allowed on the beach from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and must be on a 6-foot leash at other times. No alcohol, glass or smoking. City beaches are open 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Getting there & access

Getting there

Turn off Pacific Coast Highway onto Poppy Avenue and follow it to the end. Walk down the paved path.
