About this beach
Huntington Dog Beach is a stretch of sand along Pacific Coast Highway between Seapoint Avenue and Goldenwest Street where dogs can go off leash. It's the closest place to let a dog run if you're visiting Bolsa Chica or Huntington State Beach, where dogs aren't allowed on the sand.
Leash rules
The sand is leash-optional, but dogs must be leashed coming and going, in the parking lots and on the upper bluff. The beach isn't fenced, so your dog needs reliable recall.
Parking
Two oceanfront metered lots along PCH charge by the hour, and they fill quickly on weekends and holidays.
Good to know
No aggressive or sick dogs, females in heat, or puppies under 4 months. Pick up after your dog right away. The Preservation Society of Huntington Dog Beach helps fund upkeep through donations.
