About this beach
Butterfly Beach is on Channel Drive in Montecito, just east of Santa Barbara. The beach runs east to west, so it gets both sunrise and sunset views.
Getting there
Park on either side of Channel Drive, or on Butterfly Lane if Channel Drive is full; it fills quickly on weekends. You can also bike about three flat, paved miles from Stearns Wharf on the Cabrillo Bike Path.
Good to know
There are no public facilities at the beach. Coast Village Road, about a five-minute walk away, has food and shops. Leashed dogs are allowed.
